ABOUT US
Federazione Cure Palliative Onlus was established in 1999 by 22 of the most prominent non-profit italian Associations involved in palliative care for terminally ill patients, whose aim to contribute through cooperation to the further development of Palliative Care in Italy.By December 2001 the member associations are 55.

OUR AIM
Until now, palliative care for terminally ill patients has not been given a proper place within the national health care system.
Our mission is to protect the rights of the dying and the quality of care received by lobbying the public administration and stimulating public awareness.
We believe that the patients' quality of life must be safeguarded to the last stage, by easing physical symptoms and also paying attention to psychological and emotional needs.
 
Goals of FEDCP

  • Exchange information and experiences between the member organization
     

  • Provide information to target audiences
     

  • Promote the volunteer movement and social solidarity in palliative care
     

  • Enhance training and research
     

  • Organize campaigns to stimulate public opinion and improve the financing of palliative care
     

  • Survey the correct application of national and local legislation to guarantee the highest possible standard
     

  • Help to create, through the Internet, an international network of non profit organizations, respectful of each other's identities and viewpoints, interested in supporting the development of palliative care.

The general layout of our website is for the moment in italian. However, you will find:

ONP: a directory of adresses of No Profit Organizations operating in Europe and Italy in the field of palliative care, assistance to terminally ill patients and therapy of pain. FedCP cannot guarantee the completedness of these data and the quality of these organizations.

CENTRI: lists all italian centers where it is possible to get palliative care and therapy of pain.
